Refrigerator Not Cooling Properly
- Temperature setting too warm: Set the refrigerator near 37°F / 3°C and the freezer near 0°F / -18°C for normal food storage.
- Air vents blocked: Move food containers away from internal vents so cold air can circulate between refrigerator and freezer sections.
- Condenser coils dirty: Clean dust, lint, and pet hair from the condenser area using a vacuum or coil brush.
- Door gasket leaking: Inspect the gasket for dirt, cracks, gaps, or wrinkles. Clean with warm water and mild soap.
- Large warm food load: Allow several hours for the refrigerator to return to normal temperature after adding groceries or after a power outage.
Freezer Too Warm or Frost Buildup
- Freezer door not sealing: Check for food packages blocking the door and inspect the gasket for damage.
- Frequent door opening: Warm air entering the freezer can create frost and longer cooling cycles.
- Blocked freezer vents: Rear freezer vents must remain open for proper airflow.
- Frost on back wall: A defrost issue may be present. Check the model-specific manual before replacing parts.
Ice Maker Problems
- No ice production: Make sure the ice maker is turned on, the freezer is cold enough, and the water supply valve is open.
- Small or hollow cubes: Check water pressure, inspect the water line for kinks, and replace the filter if the model uses one.
- Ice maker arm stuck: Make sure the shutoff arm or switch moves freely and is not blocked by ice.
- Ice tastes unusual: Empty old ice, clean the ice bin, and flush the water system after filter replacement.
Water Dispenser & Filter Issues
- No water dispensing: Confirm the refrigerator door is fully closed, the water supply is connected, and Control Lock is not enabled.
- Slow water flow: Replace the water filter and flush several gallons through the dispenser after installation.
- Dispenser leaking: Air may be trapped in the line after filter replacement. Flush the system until water flow is steady.
- Filter indicator still on: Reset the filter status using the button sequence listed in the model-specific guide.
Noise, Vibration & Door Problems
- Humming or buzzing: Normal compressor, fan, or water valve sounds during cooling and ice maker cycles.
- Clicking sounds: May happen when the compressor starts or stops, or when the defrost control operates.
- Rattling: Make sure the refrigerator is level and not touching the wall, cabinets, or loose objects.
- Doors not closing: Check shelves, bins, and food packages. Adjust the front leveling feet if the doors do not close naturally.
- Uneven doors: Follow the leveling and door alignment steps in the installation manual.
Installation & Maintenance Tips
- Allow proper clearance: Keep enough space around the cabinet for ventilation according to the installation instructions.
- Level after moving: Adjust leveling legs so the refrigerator is stable and the doors seal correctly.
- Clean interior safely: Use mild soap and warm water. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may damage liners or plastic bins.
- Check after power loss: Confirm cooling has restarted and monitor food temperature before storing sensitive items.
Safety note: Always unplug the refrigerator or disconnect power before cleaning condenser coils, replacing parts, checking wiring, or servicing internal components. Do not modify sealed refrigeration systems.
